Sometimes it seems like time is going by slowly, until I look back at old pics.  Then I see how my baby became a boy, along with glimpses of his becoming a man.  I pray the world can open itself to new possibilities only found by putting hate and fear, distrust and anger, to the side.  I want his life to be blessed with acceptance for the person he is, not tainted with bigotry and prejudice.  I love my my darling boy. You are a gift to us and to the world.  Don't stay anchored to the side lines.  Get out there! You have great things to offer, if only with your beautiful smile.

Blizzard 2016 *

The house smells like challah, pork roll and eggs, pumpkin pancakes, ghee and turmeric.  Will has been binge watching "Martha Stewart Thanksgiving Turkey 101" for about 3 days, and helping me cook.

Jim is getting over a cold but was up to  going out to shovel and after 2 hours or so.  we would stick our heads out the door and ask if he was doing ok, and then he would throw a shovel of show at the front door.  Naughty daddy.

Will went out to give him a hand after breakfast. And then he made a snow angel.  Then Mama made a snow angel.  That was pretty stupid. Especially given I had only running shoes and a sweatshirt on. Silly Mama.

my vow to creative life

decided to just take the plunge and give up perfectionism, so I can be a more authentic creative soul and share more of our family with you.   Too much time worrying about appearances and not living. Too much damn worry about everything period. Blahh.  No way to really live. Can't teach Will to be his own beloved if I can't learn to be my own.

the b-day fiesta continues

There were lots of decorations and train themed goodies.  Will really liked the train logo garland Mama made him.  There were train crossing signs and lots of ribbons decorating the ceiling fan above the cupcake tower.  Friends got to take home a goodie bag containing fun homemade train things: a chocolate train shaped lollipop; a little box of "tickets" good for things like hugs and kisses, a snack, a snuggle, etc. to use at home with their families; and a necklace showing " i heart trains".  It was a lot of work but it was totally worth it.

The theme was trains and chocolate--what more could a boy ask for??  How about chocolate monogrammed cupcakes?  Thank God for candy making chocolate.  Yummmmmmmmm
